Rachel Cardoza, RN, BSN
Birth & Postpartum Doula
Originally from Kansas City, I now call Snohomish home. I am a wife, mother, and practicing Catholic who values faith, family, and community.
When I'm not supporting families or spending time with my own, you can usually find me exploring the outdoors. I love hiking, discovering charming small towns, and trying new restaurants and local favorites wherever I go. Food is one of my favorite ways to experience a new place!
Fall is by far my favorite season. I'm the quintessential autumn enthusiast—give me a pumpkin spice latte, a trip to the local farm, crisp air, and colorful leaves, and I'm in my happy place. On Sundays during football season, you'll find me cheering on my hometown team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
I believe life's greatest joys are often found in simple moments spent with family, good food, beautiful places, and meaningful connections. I look forward to getting to know you and being part of your journey.
I am a registered nurse with a passion for supporting children and families through some of life's most important moments. I began my nursing career in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), where I cared for premature and critically ill newborns and supported their families during some of their most vulnerable times. After four years in the NICU, I made a significant transition to elementary school nursing, where I spent three years caring for and advocating for students. Most recently, I worked at Seattle Children's Hospital, helping children recover after surgery.
While I have truly loved caring for babies and children throughout my nursing career, becoming a mother gave me a new perspective. As I prepared for my own labor and delivery, I quickly realized how overwhelming, emotional, and unpredictable the birth experience can be. I immersed myself in research, explored the many possibilities that can arise during labor, and gained a deeper understanding of the support families need throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum recovery.
Through that journey, I discovered a calling to help women and their families feel informed, empowered, and supported as they create their own unique birth stories. My goal is to combine my nursing experience, evidence-based knowledge, and personal perspective as a mother to help guide families through this transformative season of life.
Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I would love the opportunity to connect with you, hear your story, and support you on your journey into parenthood.

"Rachel was the most outstanding birth doula to help us welcome our baby boy into the world. She was so incredibly knowledgeable, supportive, caring, & attentive throughout our entire experience working with her. She took the time to really listen to all my desires for my birth and made sure to provide me with the appropriate support, education, & guidance to make my dream birth a reality. She also took time to answer all my questions and clearly has a wealth of knowledge about labor, delivery, and newborn care. She made me feel so confident, empowered, & cared for, and I couldn't have achieved my dream unmedicated (very fast) birth without her! Highly recommend her to all expecting mamas!" - Stacey
"I had the pleasure of working with Rachel as our Doula for our first birth. Rachel was attentive, listened well, and was very prepared at our prenatal meetings to ensure she captured and understood how I would need to be supported and feel the most comfortable. During labor and birth, she was just the extra support I needed, and also provided ways for my husband to care as well. She supported me spiritually with prayer, and emotionally with encouragement. I can't recommend her enough!" - Sandra
"When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived; but when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy that a child has been born into the world" (John 17:21, OSV).
